Today is the last day to register or change voter information for the 2008 General Election. Voting issues must be addressed by close of business at your local registrars office or, if sent by mail, postmarked today.

According to statistics released by the State Board of Elections, there has been a net addition of 1,898 registered voters in Harrisonburg and 2,007 in Rockingham County this year. The total voters in both localities is 61,096 as of September 30, which equates to 1.25 percent of the total 4,890,393 registered statewide.
In the October previous to the 2004 General Election, there were 54,791 registered voters in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
Last month, the State Board of Elections received 755 new registrations from Rockingham County and 830 from Harrisonburg. Nearly 350,000 new registrations have been submitted statewide so far this year.
