The Virginia Department of Transportation has announced several traffic alerts for this week in Rockingham County. Perhaps most significantly, road repair on Interstate 81, including mobile lane closures, are to be expected on Tuesday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. between mile marker 234 to 257. The road repairs will also extend to nearby counties during the same time period.
The following is a list of this week’s ongoing roadwork in Rockingham County as provided by VDOT:
PRIMARY ROADS
Route 11 (South Valley Pike) – Waterline installation and commercial entrance work between Route 756 (Liskey Road to Route 704 (Cecil Wampler Road). Right shoulder closure, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 11 (South Valley Pike) – Bore testing between Route 756 (Liskey Road) and Route 701 (Pike Church Road). Right shoulder closed. Work will be weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 33 (Rawley Pike) – Water line installation at Route 613 (Clover Hill Road). Shoulder closure with single lane traffic. Flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should use caution in this area.
Route 42 (North Main Street, Timberville) – Utility work from Route 1501 (Bellevue Street) to Route 1505 (Bellevue Street). Shoulder closures, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily.
Route 42 (Main Street, Town of Bridgewater) – Road reconstruction at Route 1310 (Mt. Crawford Avenue). Flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 24/7 work hours possible on occasion.
Route 253 (Port Republic Road) – Temporary commercial entrance installation from Route 710 (Reservoir Street) to Route 704 (Boyers Road), right shoulder closure, Monday to Friday,
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Route 257 (Mason Street, Dayton) – Entrance construction between Route 1204 (Ashby Street) and Route 1203 (Westview Street). Shoulder closure with single lane traffic. Flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should use caution in this area.
Route 257 (Mason Street, Town of Dayton) – Right shoulder closure from Route 1202 (Sunset Drive to Route 737 (Limestone Road). Sewer line installation. Right shoulder closure, Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Route 340 (South Eastside Highway) – Commercial entrance installation from Route 708 (Ore Bank Road) and Route 754 (South Branch Road). Right shoulder closure, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 340 (Eastside Highway) – Shoulder closure for cable installation between Route 349 (Berrytown Road) and entrance to Coors. Work hours are weekdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SECONDARY ROADS
Route 613 (Singers Glen Road) – Right shoulder closed between Route 777 (Peter Driver Lane) and Route 889 (Glen School Circle) for commercial entrance. Weekdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 613 (Clover Hill Road) – Water line installation between Route 33 (Rawley Pike) and Route 1442 (Lilly Square). Lane and shoulder closures controlled by flaggers. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 613 (Singers Glen Road) – 5K race. Singers Glen area. Traffic controlled by the Singers Glen Fire Department in conjunction with Virginia State Police and Rockingham Sheriff’s Department. Saturday, July 19, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Route 617 (Church Street) Timberville – Waterline installation between Route 1504 (High Street) and Route 1521 (E. Riverside Drive). Lane closure with 9 ft. restriction. Flaggers controlling traffic. Work begins Monday, June 30.
Route 618 (Lone Pine Drive) – Commercial entrance work from Route 800 (American Legion Drive) to Route 42 (Timber Way). Single lane traffic with flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 628 (Beldor Road) – Bridge deck replacement with box culvert, south of Route 33 at Belton. Lane closure with 9 ft. restriction with Stop and Proceed when way is clear. Work is June 23 to July 11.
Route 644 (Resort Drive) – Roadway reconstruction between Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) and Route 646 west (Bloomer Springs Road). Monday to Friday, 6 a.m .to 7 p.m.
Route 679 (Pleasant Valley Road) – Sewer line installation from Route 689 (Spaders Church Road) to Route 898 (Pleasant Drive). Shoulder and lane closures controlled by flaggers. Blasting may occur. Work is Monday to Frisday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 704 (Cecil Wampler Road) – Sewer line work from Route 679 (Pleasant Valley Road) to Route 705 (Cottontail Trail). Shoulder closure, single lane traffic, Weekdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 704 (Cecil Wampler Road) in conjunction with Route 679 work – At Route 679 (Pleasant Valley Road) Sewer line installation. Occasional blasting may occur. Shoulder closure. One lane traffic controlled by flaggers. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 726 (Misty Court) – Waterline installation between Route 253 (Port Republic Road) and Dead end. Shoulder closure. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Route 727 (Airport Road) – Bridge repairs, bridge closed. Located between Route 11 (Lee Highway) and Route 696 (Kiser Road) near Mt. Crawford and Bridgewater.
Route 767 (Willow Run Road) – Road construction from .14 mile west of Route 42 (Harpine Highway) to Route 910 (Fort Lynne Road). Lane closures with flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 801 (Holsinger Road) – Paving from Route 259 (Timber Way) and Route 800 (American Legion Drive). Lane closures Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Route 820 (Crab Run Road) – Road closed for pipe installation from .85 miles north of the intersection of South Route 822 (Arbuckle Road). Monday to Friday.
Route 826 (Criders Road) – Cable installation between Route 865 (German River Road) and End of State Maintenance at the West Virginia line. Traffic controlled by flaggers Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route 981 (Rockingham Pike) – Two commercial entrance installation, from Route 639 (Nicholson Road) to Route 33 (Spotswood Trail), right shoulder closure. Work is Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 996 (McGaheysville Road) – Installation of two flashing school speed limit signs, between Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) and Route 672 (Pineville Road). Right shoulder closure, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 1310 (Mt. Crawford Avenue) – Shoulder grading, from Route 257 (Dinkel Avenue) to Route 42 (North Main Street). Right and left shoulder closures. Flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m with 24/7 work hours possible on occasion.
Route 1134 (Lincolnshire Drive) – Sewer line installation at Route 763 (Mt. Clinton Pike). Shoulder closure. Single lane traffic, flagger traffic control. Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Route 1442 (Lilly Square) – Waterline installation, Route 613 (Clover Hill Road). Right shoulder closure, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
